Designer Sam Hecht for Droog, 2004 The material of this lampshade may look rigid from a distance but is in fact flexible enough to be twisted and squeezed. The light casing is combined with the shade to look like one but it can be easily removed to fit an energy saving bulb. Founder of Industrial Facility in London, Sam Hecht’s commissions have come from LaCie, Issey Miyake, Muji, and Herman Miller where he is creative advisor. The work of Industrial Facility is included in the permanent collections of MoMA New York, Centre Pompidou, Paris, State Museum of Applied Arts in Munich, The Israel Museum in Jerusalem and the Museum Fur Kunsthandwerk in Frankfurt.
