The series actually takes its name from naturally occuring crystals: heliodor is a clear yellow variety of beryl found near Rossing, Namibia, and prized as a gemstone; Herkimer is an exceptionally clear quartz crystal from Herkimer County, NY. Gaia & Gino was founded by Gaye Cevikel in 2004 and is headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey. The company, named after the founder Gaye Cevikel's nickname and her dog Gino, has distinguished itself with quirky, inventive and unusual products. Gaia & Gino has earned itself a reputation as one of the international design scene's most promising young brands.
